Cervicalgia or Neck Pain is usually due to muscle overload caused by bad habits of daily postures.
Sometimes it is a localized pain in the neck and other times it is a pain that spreads to the arms, head or back. You may feel tingling and numbness in the fingers, pain in the back of the neck, or feel dizzy and nauseous.
For the diagnosis of cervical pain, a complete clinical history of cervical symptoms must be taken. A clinical examination should be performed that includes an assessment of posture, cervical mobility and painful areas, as well as an assessment of nerve and muscle function in the arms and legs.
The most common symptoms are:
- Pain in the neck area.
- Difficulty moving it.
- Headaches.
- Dizziness.
- Rigidity.
